Baby Hemorrhoids

Baby hemorrhoids can occur, but luckily they occur very rarely at this age. The main causes is from too much coughing or the strain from too much crying. In some very unusual and strange circumstances constipation from the formula milk.

SIDEBAR The vein walls are still very fragile and may collapse easily in some babies.

The most common symptom will be a little blood in the stools, or on the nappy, or on the wipes.

Treat immediately with a mild hemorrhoid cream and then it would be advisable to take the baby to your Doctor for his confirmation that this bleeding is from hemorrhoids and not another ailment.

The treatment should settle the hemorrhoids within two to three days, and no more blood should be visible. If the symptoms are still seen after this period, then you must definitely take the baby urgently to see the doctor.

Also try to increase baby's daily water intake, this is very important.

Hemorrhoids may also occur in toddlers, but fortunately they too are very rare.

The symptoms and the cure are the same as for the babies. There is however one difference. At this age they are not young enough and not old enough, so it is a very critical age.

My son at this age got hemorrhoids, caused by pushing. The pushing must of hurt him very much. This caused him to be frightened and he refused to evacuate himself.

In other words it can become a psychological problem. The only way around this problem was to give him a gentle laxative for children like Fybogel.

Give them fybogel daily for the next seven days to continually keep the stools loose. This way you will have tricked them in forgetting the pain associated with evacuation.

After the seven days are up, they will then keep evacuating without the laxative.

SIDEBAR If your toddler gets hemorrhoids or has a very bad toilet session, where you can see that they are blue in the face, and cry or take a very long time on the toilet. Give them the fybogel for the next couple of days.

With children, it's much easier because they can communicate, and they will tell you about the pain. Again use the same fybogel with children.

N.B. Do not use fybogel with babies, unless you have a doctor approval.

As soon as they are old enough to understand. It is important to teach them the few tips and technics that you will read in my E-book and hemorrhoids will be a thing of the past for them.
