You Don't Have to Live with a Pain in the Derrière!
I strongly oppose self help hemorrhoids diagnosis, and I am even reluctant to mention it here. However I know some people have no means to pay for a proper medical diagnosis, and this page is exactly for such people.
The symptoms of hemorrhoids are not many, but can quiet easily be mistaken with other ailments .
This is the problem with self diagnosing.
The symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are usually no pain, only bright red blood in the pan, stools or on the toilet paper, and most probably an anal itch.
The external hemorrhoids symptom is a swollen lump on your anus, with sometimes bright red blood in the pan, or in the stools or on the toilet paper. Usually accompanied with pain and burning either before, during or after stool evacuation. Also sometimes an anal itch.
Fissure hemorrhoids, or anal fissures symptoms are usually excruciating pain during evacuation on the toilet, and bright red blood on the toilet paper.
Prolapsed hemorrhoid symptoms are the same as internal hemorrhoid symptoms, with an added difference that the hemorrhoid is a lump that you can feel on your anus, which can with your finger be pushed back up the anus.
This will also be accompanied with PAIN. The more complexed cases of prolapsed hemorrhoids, the hemorrhoid will not go back up the anus, and will bleed more often, and the pain will be more intense.
This type of hemorrhoid is very common in women. During pregnancy women get internal hemorrhoids, which later in life turn to prolapsed.
Your last hemorrhoids diagnosis is the symptoms of a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. This will usually cause serious pain, and you will feel a hard lump on your anus. Probably accompanied by some itching and burning.
N.B. Make sure that any blood loss is bright red. If the blood is of another color, usually darker red, it is not hemorrhoids, go to a medical doctor immediately.
Another way to determine what type of hemorrhoids you might have is to look at this series of what do hemorrhoids look like videos. You might be able to associate your hemorrhoid with the hemorrhoid in the video.
My most important advise on self hemorrhoids diagnosis, is to use the hemorrhoid treatments I mentioned on the hemorrhoids help page and follow up with my hemorrhoids E-Book for 7 days.
If after 7 days you are not experiencing any relief at all, it means you do not have hemorrhoids, but maybe some other ailment which needs an immediate attention from a medical doctor.
